On August 26, Kazan hosted the international competition IRONSTAR triathlon SPRINT & 113 KAZAN 2017. This year the competition gathered about 1,500 fans of the triathlon not only from Russia and the neighboring countries, but also from France, Austria, Sweden, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates. Numerous fans supported the participants throughout the race.

Alexey Kalistratov became the best among those who chose the 113 KAZAN distance, with the result of 3 hours 53 minutes and 55 seconds. The second among the men was Dmitry Rostyagayev, whose final time was 4 hours 3 minutes and 24 seconds, and Yevgeny Rulevsky closed the top three with the result of 4 hours 6 minutes and 6 seconds.
“All turned out as I planned. Swim and run was the easiest, the hardest part was the cycling stage, I had to work hard,” said Alexey. He noted the high quality and quickness of the track and called Kazan a beautiful city.
