The start in Sochi took place at two distances: sprint (0.75 km swimming, 20 km bicycle race, 5 km running) and "semi-iron" (1.93 km swimming, 90 km cycling, and 21.1 km running).
Besides, at the same time, with the support of the Ministry of Sports, the Russian Paratriathlon Championship was held which was attended by more than 20 athletes with musculoskeletal disorders.
The swim course took place in the harbor of Imeretinsky Port, the cycle course — along the "Formula 1" track on SOCHI AUTODROM and the Adler-Krasnaya Polyana mountain road, and the run course — along the Black Sea embankment and the picturesque breakwater.
The absolute winner of the "semi-iron" distance was Andrei Bryukhankov who showed the time 04:07:35. It is the record of the track accomplishment.
“It was a debut for me at such a distance (A. Bryukhankov attended “IRONSTAR 113” for the first time and immediately won). I did not give up, and I am glad that I’ve finished such a long distance.”
